‘Mrs. Thornton!’ exclaimed Mrs. Hale.
‘The mother of whom he spoke to us?’ said Margaret.
‘Mrs. Thornton; the only mother he has, I believe,’ said Mr. Hale quietly.
‘I shall like to see her. She must be an uncommon person, her mother added.
